To: Nassau County Winter Track Coaches
If you are new to coaching Winter Track at your present school please be sure to get me your name, mailing address, and home phone. Also if any of that information has changed since last winter please give me an update. All additions and changes are needed by December 9th. The address you want information sent to is important, with vacations you might want that to be your home address. Your phone number at home is very important, winter weather is unpredictable, if we have your number there is a chance you can be called, without it there is no chance. Also we are collecting cell numbers for those inclined. We will be using a number system this winter. Each of your athletes will receive a number, they will use this same number all season. The number will be required at all Section 8 meets and at the Nassau Coaches Meet and the Malverne Friendship series. It will be very helpful if, when you report the results of outside meets you include the athletes number. Field event athletes will be required to use numbers as well as all runners. All rosters must be to me by December 9, 2003 so that numbers may be issued. When you make out a relay card include the athletes name and number. Connected to the back of this memo is one copy of a results report form, please make as many copies as you need. Please fill this out completely for any meet other than our Section 8 sponsored meets at Farmingdale, SCC or NCC. This information is needed as soon after the meet as possible. The information will be added to the data base for use at seeding meetings, and comprising the rankings, which are sent out to college coaches at the end of the year. When ever an athlete has had a performances that meets the standards listed below please send it in as you never know what will happen, weather may prevent him from being in a particular event, the athlete may get sick or injured, thus an early season performance may become important. Early reporting makes my life a little easier as well. If all of the results come in at the end of the season the data bank will not be completed and your athlete may be miss seeded or be rejected from the counties. Please send any performance that meets or exceeds these minimum standards
