The Third Annual PSAL Invitational Cross Country meet promises to, again, provide a great competitive experience for all athletes and coaches. Ten thrilling races, with lots of prizes, will be held at the famous course at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
Invitations have been distributed to many of the top programs in the surrounding area. Teams from these schools will join the PSAL in randomly seeded races.
The Invitational provides all entrants the opportunity to run the hills of Van Cortlandt just prior to the Manhattan College meet.
On race day, entry packets may be picked up at the blue PSAL tent, beginning at 10:30 am. (On Broadway side of the park) The PSAL will assign numbers to all athletes on your team roster.
Entry Deadline: Thursday September 25th at noon
There is no entry fee!
Eight attractive t shirts will be given to the top six teams in each race.
Medals will be awarded to the top 30 finishers in each race.
An award will be given to the top boys and girls team in the varsity races, based on the team with the lowest average time.
An award will be given to the best high school program, based upon results from all races run during the day.
Teams must start a minimum of five runners to be eligible in the varsity team race. Teams with less than five runners will not be allowed to compete in the Varsity races.
In order for a school to compete in the JV races a school must have started seven runners in the varsity race. There is no limit to entries in the JV races, only seven from a school will figure in the scoring.
There is no entry limitation for the freshman races.
Pole positions will be posted on WWW.PSAL.ORG on Thursday October 2,2003.
